Welcome to the Riverdale!
Riverdale Motel is located in Portland, Connecticut, on Route 66, approximately 4 miles east of Middletown and 15 miles south of Hartford. We are one of the few hotels or motels to service central Connecticut east of the river and the most convenient place to stay when visiting the towns of Portland, East Hampton, Hebron, Colchester, Marlboro, Moodus, and East Haddam.
We are a friendly, family-run motel, with 47 clean, quiet, spacious rooms. All rooms have
refrigerators, telephones, room thermostats,
air-conditioning and cable TV. Four rooms have fully equipped kitchens.
Two rooms are handicapped accessible with roll-in showers. Non-smoking and smoking rooms are
available.
Every morning complimentary coffee and pastry is served in the lobby and free wi-fi internet access is available throughout our main building. We have large well lighted parking areas. All rooms have a ground level entrance so you never have to carry your luggage upstairs.
When you stay at Riverdale Motel there are numerous activities to enjoy nearby. We are close to three 18-hole golf courses in Portland. Wesleyan University, in Middletown, is very near for visiting parents and family. For the shoppers there are antique shops and outlet shopping centers. History lovers will enjoy historic Goodspeed Opera House, Gillette's Castle, Riverboat and Train Rides, Mark Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe Houses, and the Comstock Bridge. Less than a hour's drive away you can find Foxwood and Mohegan Sun Casinos as well as the state capitol of Hartford and all it has to offer.
